Our Story
1988... One welder... One truck... A handshake deal with a poultry plant manager who needed help yesterday. Our founder didn't have a business plan or an office. He had calloused hands and a simple truth: take care of people.
Those first customers didn't hire a company—they hired a guy who answered his phone at 2 AM when a line went down. Who knew their kids' names. Who'd rebuilt the same problematic equipment three times until it ran the way it should've from the start. No invoice adjustments. No excuses. Just fixed.
Word traveled fast in northeast Alabama. A plant manager speaks with another at a supply store. 'You know someone who actually shows up?' By year two, that one truck was never parked. Fast forward to now: 60 people, coast-to-coast installations, ISO 9001 quality, ASME certifications, engineering, machining, rolling, and lasers—the whole operation.
Walk to our shop floor at 6 AM, and you'll find the same thing that the manager saw in 1988. People who care. Who knows that behind every equipment order is someone with production quotas and a mortgage. Someone who needs us to be right the first time.
The truck is now in our museum. The philosophy is not. It's welded into everything we build. It lives in our culture.
What Makes FSG Different
"Can you make this?" A plant engineer handed us a napkin sketch. Three weeks later, we delivered equipment that's still running two million pounds annually. That napkin? Framed in our break room. You can sketch it on a napkin or anything else; we’ll then engineer, convert it into a SolidWorks model or a CAD drawing, fabricate, and install it.
We've developed equipment that didn't exist before because a customer had a problem that nobody else could solve. We don't do catalog solutions. Your bottleneck, floorplan, and product are unique. So why settle for someone else's solution?
Our expertise runs deep, but expertise alone doesn't differentiate us. Plenty of shops can weld. Plenty can fabricate. What sets us apart is our understanding of your business, enabling us to build exactly what you need, delivered on time, installed correctly, and backed by people who'll answer the phone when you call.
Nearly four decades in, we remain driven by our original mission: to understand what customers need, exceed their expectations, and build relationships that are forged in trust and dependability. This is not a business model. It's a promise. One we've kept since 1988
FSG CAPABILITIES
We've equipped ourselves to tackle whatever you need built. Our laser cutting systems handle tolerances down to thousandths of an inch across any material thickness. CNC machining centers maintain accuracy through thousands of piece runs. Our complete fabrication capabilities enable us to work with stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel—whatever your application demands.
But raw capability isn't just about machines. It's about engineers who know exactly how much load that weld will be able to carry. Programmers who optimize cut paths to save material without sacrificing strength. That's the capability you develop, not purchase.
Need higher throughput? We can engineer material flow that cuts cycle time. Space constraints? We'll design vertical solutions that maximize your cubic footage. Harsh environment? We know which coatings and materials will survive your conditions.
Our capabilities cover the complete project lifecycle. We can assess your current operations, identify bottlenecks, and design solutions. We can prototype, test, and refine until it's right. We handle fabrication, assembly, installation, and commissioning. One team managing every phase means nothing falls through the cracks.
Technical capabilities? We've got them covered: SolidWorks modeling, precision plasma and laser cutting, certified ASME welding, CNC machining, and millwright installation. We can reverse-engineer obsolete equipment, modify existing systems, or design entirely new solutions.
More importantly, we can build for reality. That's FSG capability—not just what we have, but what we can do with it—real solutions for real production challenges.
Our core commitment endures: to understand precisely what each customer needs, engineer solutions that exceed specifications, and build partnerships founded on technical excellence and unwavering reliability.
